Laurent Grimon

Savon des Cantons

It has been almost 20 years since Laurent Grimon founded Savon des Cantons on Chemin des Pères bordering Lake Memphrémagog. His passion is for producing and marketing Castile soap, the ancestor of Marseille soap. The company has grown over the years and is now proud to offer an array of all-natural cosmetic products made using traditional techniques.

Concurrently, Grimon also started growing sea buckthorn on his 62-acre plot of land. The fruit, transformed onsite into jelly, juice, gelato and sorbet, goes to market under the banner Gourmet par Nature. All their products are made without chemicals for cosmetics and sea buckthorn products, and without fertilizers or pesticides for the plants they grow. Their products are sold at the Gourmet shop and online, along with a variety of olive oils, balsamic vinegars, and fine spices. Visitors can enjoy tours, tastings and even workshops on the premises during the summer season.

Grimon's relationship with the CAE Memphrémagog dates back to the beginnings of Savon des Cantons. Since then, a bond of trust has developed between them, and Grimon has turned to the CAE on several occasions for building expansions, business growth and marketing initiatives. "What I appreciate most about the advisors at the CAE is their attentiveness and open-mindedness. They really want to help us. They've always given me sound advice on how to develop my business and market. They also contacted me at the beginning of the pandemic and proposed solutions for my businesses to be able get through this difficult period of uncertainty."
